Thinking Of Running A Contest on Facebook? Think Again!
At the beginning of November, the massive social network announced that brands, advertisers, and marketers that want to run contests or sweepstakes on its platform have to go through an approval process first.
Getting that approval could be a new revenue stream for Facebook: according to multiple sources in the marketing industry, they’re being told that running a promotion in a Facebook application or "fan page" requires buying ad space too.
It’s pricey. The minimum ad buy is $10,000 for 30 days, using Facebook’s self-service advertising system, according to documents seen by CNET, or $30,000 for 30 days of Facebook home page ads. Priority in the approval process will be scaled, based on how much advertising space has been purchased.Read the full article on CNET News here: Running a contest on Facebook? That’ll cost you

The First Noel
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep
On a cold winter's night that was so deep.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
They looked up and saw a star
Shining in the East beyond them far
And to the earth it gave great light
And so it continued both day and night.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
And by the light of that same star
Three Wise men came from country far
To seek for a King was their intent
And to follow the star wherever it went.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
This star drew nigh to the northwest
O'er Bethlehem it took its rest
And there it did both Pause and stay
Right o'er the place where Jesus lay.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
Then entered in those Wise men three
Full reverently upon their knee
And offered there in His presence
Their gold and myrrh and frankincense.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
Then let us all with one accord
Sing praises to our heavenly Lord
That hath made Heaven and earth of nought
And with his blood mankind has bought.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!

Sending a Christmas Teddy to an Orphan
This morning the whole school was singing Christmas Carols and then the children hugged all the teddies before they were sent to an orphanage.
What a sweet gift of love to those little children that do not have a family.
Please find a moment during this Christmas season to express love and appreciation to your family.
To have a family is one of the greatest blessings after all.

Ho, Ho, Ho!!!

Dresser, by Alfer Design

Purple/Yellow Heart Rocking Chair, by Hollis Woodworks
Speaking of furniture as beautiful as the last photograph, take a look at this rocking chair from Hollis Woodworks. Purple heart and yellow heart are both dense woods, sometimes difficult to work with, but with skill and patience they yield spectacular results, as you can see.
This rocker was inspired by the work of Sam Maloof. I'm certain the people at Hollis Woodworks will take it as a compliment when I say I understood that before reading it. It's not a Maloof rocker, but it has the same grace notes and the same feel to it. Sam Maloof was a genius of furniture design and most good furniture makers aspire to his level of expertise and art. I know I do, and I could learn some valuable lessons by studying this chair.
